Interview: Above Average Athlete
During my freshmen year of high school I weighed 230 pounds at a height of 5'7. I wore a size 42 pant. Suffering from depression, self injury, and suicide idealization, I was going downhill. After realizing the path I was on, I decided to work on my health and drastically changed my life. Now I am a recent graduate of South Dakota State University with a degree in nutrition. I am also Reiki Level 1 trained. Early next year my fiancee and myself are traveling to South America to teach English as a second language along with exploring, learning about the world, and discovering ourselves :)
I love to inspire and assist people whenever and however I can, whether it is with issues related to nutrition, weight loss, running, or general wellness. 9 years ago I was a 230 pound depressed and suicidal high school student. Someone finds out I run marathons or 140 mile triathlons and they say "oh I could never do that". Well I'm proof that whatever your origin is and whatever your goal may be, it's possible! 9 years ago you would never have even considered this size 42 waist would cross the finish line of a 100 mile ultra marathon.
The purpose of this blog is to document my running and training for future use. As a plant based runner who enjoys ultra marathons all the way down to 5k races, hindsight is always 20/20 and looking back at the blog provides valuable information. It is also a way for other's to view my life and maybe take something good from it.

Hi,
I am sorry I am leaving a comment, I can't find your email (nor name). I am writing you in the hopes that you want to participate in an e-book we are writing about ultra runners.
We want to tap into the collective craziness (we mean that as a compliment:-)) of this community to challenge and inspire other people to make their own life an ever-greater creative expression of their own goals and dreams… without limits.
We would ask you to answer two questions about your experience with ultra running.
If you'd like to participate please shoot me an email at dreamit@juliossol.com.
Thanks!
All the best,
Jannick
