Today was the last run in this pair :( They have been through a couple 50+ mile runs and an Ironman triathlon. I believe the total mileage on these is pretty close to 1400. The black on that toe is from wrapping it with electrical tape when it was still warm enough for me to not wimp out on running outside. So yeah, I did cheat on getting a few more miles out of them :p
If you click right HERE, you can see them 700 miles ago!
And my first pair, which I retired at 750 miles, right HERE.
These will be missed :( No shoe can ever come close in comparison to how broke in these are. It was like running in cloth. I have done 30 or 40 miles on my next pair, so they have a start on getting into shape anyway. If I can get that right big toe figured out, and stop putting holes in them, maybe my next pair will get a few hundred more miles!

You really squeezed every inch of distance out of those.
Next time you have "broken in" a good pair of shoes, keep them for races.
I have an old beloved pair (non-vibram) that I take out 1-3 times per year and run 26 miles in them. I know that they work and how they feel.
I hope they will last many more years at that rate.
My Bikilas have only 84 miles on them, but I noticed after finishing a 54Km run on stone dust, dirt, and asphalt trails the left big toe has lost the gray rubber at the tip, but I don't think that means all that much, except that every pair of shoes I own shows that kind of wear on the left foot.
I was just curious as to why Vibram puts the soft and very thin rubber on the shoes to begin with, if it's going to rub off so quickly.
Other than that, no issues with the 54Km.
