Vibrams at 1400 miles

Today was the last run in this pair :( They have been through a couple 50+ mile runs and an Ironman triathlon. I believe the total mileage on these is pretty close to 1400. The black on that toe is from wrapping it with electrical tape when it was still warm enough for me to not wimp out on running outside. So yeah, I did cheat on getting a few more miles out of them :p

If you click right HERE, you can see them 700 miles ago!

And my first pair, which I retired at 750 miles, right HERE.

The bottoms are not too bad. Both little toes started to wear through, and the right big toe has had a hole or two for many months now. I am surprised the holes did not grow faster.

They still did not join, but the bottom layer of rubber that touches the ground broke. So that was enough for me, and them.

Other than the rubber, this small seam tear formed a few months ago, but never got any larger.

These will be missed :( No shoe can ever come close in comparison to how broke in these are. It was like running in cloth. I have done 30 or 40 miles on my next pair, so they have a start on getting into shape anyway. If I can get that right big toe figured out, and stop putting holes in them, maybe my next pair will get a few hundred more miles!
