Sponsors

There are a few companies and products that I am lucky enough to have great relationships with. Having help here and there from these people, no matter how small, makes very positive impacts on my training and racing. If you would like your business or product to be displayed on my banner, throughout my blog, and here on the sponsor page, please contact me.

These are the shoes I have used for the last two ultras I have ran, as well as the last 700 (as of Jan 27) miles I have ran. Both the BASE and FORM are two of the best shoes I've worn. They are very minimalist as a zero drop lightweight shoe. The BASE is a slip on, sock like feel while the FORM has a leather upper and may be the highest quality running shoe on the market.

Sugoi  hails from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The word, Sugoi, is Japanese for "incredible".

Their Branch Champion program...
supports and encourages outstanding people who differ from your average athlete – those who set themselves apart from other athletes by their passion and commitment to push themselves to inspire others and to embody a motivating attitude, wherever they go.
Sugoi was created in 1987 (as was I) by a cyclist and a fashion student. From that small beginning they now have hundreds of apparel options to choose from and sponsor the Liquigas-Cannondale professional cycling team, and one of my favorite cyclists, Ivan Basso. The company has gear and apparel for triathletes, runners, and cyclists. There are also many options for accessories and compression.

This is one of my favorite pieces of running gear. One Good Earbud is a single earbud that combines the two stereo channels into one earbud. As an endurance athlete I spend a lot of time out on the road running, cycling, or commuting. This is the safest way to listen to music, podcasts, or audiobooks that I am aware of while out training. I always keep the earbud in the ear away from traffic. 90% of the time I can ear any vehicle approaching me from behind or up front before I see it.

Chia seeds have been a staple in my ultra marathon nutrition for a few years now. Offering a complete amino acid profile as well as some fat, they have served me well. During ultra marathons my crew uses the little single serving packets to quickly, easily, and cleanly just open the packet and pour into my bottles. No having to deal with scoops or large bottles of chia. I also prefer Running Food's micro milled seeds. Being milled, they are technically "pre digested", thus being easier on the stomach.                                                       Purchase through Amazon to support the blog: Amazon.com

Toe socks have been around a while, but Injinji does a great job of making them into performance toe socks. During the 50 mile Surf the Murph trail ultra I did in 2011, I made the mistake of not using my brain and putting on a pair of non Injinji socks. Within 10 miles I was developing a blister and told my crew to have the Injinjis ready at the next aid station. The only time I really was not relentlusly moving forward was when I stopped to put a pair of toe socks on. Never again will I go out on a long run with anything else on my feet.                             Purchase through Amazon to support the blog: Amazon.com
